Defibrillator

A number of people have been charged following an investigation into the thefts of lifesaving medical equipment.

Between September 2016 and August 2017, the equipment, including 300 defibrillators, was taken from ambulances and buildings in Herne Bay as well as other towns, including Thanet, Ashford, Chatham, Northfleet and the Isle of Sheppey.

Radio listeners are about to suffer one of the biggest shake ups to radio listening since the 1960s saw the pirates replaced by networked national radio but it could be good news for both listeners and the emerging Community Radio scene.

Christopher Godden

A Herne Bay man has been sentenced to two years and eight months in prison.

Christopher Godden, 28, who lives in the High Street admitted two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving when he appeared at Canterbury Crown Court yesterday (Friday, 3rd May 2019).

Herne Bay has been a clean sweep for the Conservatives, gaining two seats to take all ten available in the local elections that took place yesterday (2nd May 2019).

They didn’t have complete success in the Canterbury district though, as leader of Canterbury City Council, Simon Cook, lost his seat by 238 votes. His Nailbourne seat has gone to Mike Sole of the Liberal Democrats who have seen several gains across the country. Mr Sole secured just under 50% of the total votes for the seat.

Detectives are investigating a report of a serious assault in Station Chine, Herne Bay.

Kent Police was called at 4.24pm on Friday 29 March 2019 to a report of a man with an injury consistent with a stab wound.
